Launched in 2023 by the Arts to Hearts Project, the 101 Art Book Project was created with a clear intention: to celebrate the depth, diversity, and brilliance of artists across the world through thoughtfully curated, theme-based hardcover books.

What began as an ambitious idea has grown into a meaningful and evolving global platform. Now entering its thirteenth edition, the project has featured over 1,200 artists from across continents, building a rich and ever-expanding archive of contemporary artistic voices.

Each edition of the 101 Art Book focuses on a single theme, bringing together a wide range of styles, mediums, and perspectives. Over time, the series has explored an exciting range of themes including Photography, Food, Collage, Landscape, Abstract, Portrait, Animal, Floral, Nature, Dogs, and Colors. Each volume captures how 101 artists interpret a shared subject through their unique creative lens, resulting in a collection that feels both cohesive and deeply diverse.

The upcoming edition, Pattern, invites artists to explore one of the most fundamental visual languages in art. Found in nature, culture, architecture, textiles, traditions, and everyday life, patterns shape how we see and understand the world around us. They can be repetitive or irregular, decorative or symbolic, structured or spontaneous. Through Pattern, artists are encouraged to examine rhythm, repetition, movement, texture, and meaning within their creative practice.

Whether through intricate designs, geometric compositions, abstract explorations, cultural motifs, organic forms, or conceptual interpretations, this edition seeks to uncover the countless ways patterns emerge in artistic expression. From the patterns found in landscapes and cityscapes to those embedded in memories, identities, and traditions, Pattern offers a space to celebrate both visual complexity and creative storytelling.

All books in this series are thoughtfully designed and printed in a high-quality hardcover format, with global distribution through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Arts to Hearts Project Shop. Each edition stands as a lasting document of contemporary art and a platform for international visibility.

The 101 Art Book Project is an independent initiative dedicated to supporting artists by providing a space to share their work with a wider audience. It aims to foster exposure, credibility, and connection, welcoming both emerging and established artists from diverse backgrounds.

Each edition includes 101 selected artists, forming a cohesive and carefully curated collection. Being part of the project offers artists the opportunity to be published, recognized, and included in a growing global creative community.

With submissions now open for the Pattern Edition, the thirteenth volume in this ongoing series, we invite artists from around the world to submit their work and become part of this expanding creative archive.

PhotoPlace Gallery invites photographers and artists to submit work for Cyanotype: A Celebration of Process and Possibility, a juried exhibition celebrating the enduring appeal and creative versatility of the cyanotype process. We welcome work that embraces cyanotype in all its forms, including traditional contact prints, camera-made cyanotypes, photograms, digital negative prints, toned and wet cyanotypes, alternative substrates, mixed-media works, and experimental approaches. Subject matter is open, but cyanotype should serve as a primary component of the finished work.

This exhibition coincides with World Cyanotype Day, an international celebration of one of photography's most beloved alternative processes. PhotoPlace Gallery will mark the occasion with a special reception, workshops, and cyanotype-focused programming on September 26, bringing artists and the community together to celebrate the many possibilities of this historic and continually evolving medium. Learn more about World Cyanotype Day at worldcyanotypeday.com

We are honored to have Sam Wang as juror for Cyanotype: A Celebration of Process and Possibility. He will select up to 35 images for exhibition in our Middlebury, Vermont gallery and another 40 images for our Online Gallery. All 75 images will be reproduced in the exhibition catalog, remain permanently on our website, and be promoted on social media with links to photographers' URLs.
